Position: Environmental Communications Manager
Position Objective:
Manage and execute environmental communication strategies to support the Shaw Commercial Division. The Communications Manager will be responsible for communicating current, accurate and complete information to the customer base within an aggressive timeframe, and appropriately representing the brand.
Essential Duties:
Become familiar with the image, product, and service offerings for Shaw's commercial brands. Complete environmental questionnaires that support our environmental objectives and positioning. Develop content and proofreading support for environmentally-related marketing communications projects. Develop strategic positioning of Shaw environmental products, services, and initiatives for use in internal and external communications. Ensure environmental messaging is aligned with other marketing materials and efforts. Research, write and coordinate production of Shaw Green Edge Initiatives. Complete compelling award submittals for Shaw environmental innovations. Research and provide updates on competitive environmental offerings. Maintain and provide updates to the Shaw Commercial environmental handbooks. Maintain content on ShawGreenEdge.com external website and Our Green Edge intranet site. Write and coordinate production of Shawweb commercial news topics. Provide marketing support as needed to the Director of Environmental Marketing. Provide environmental marketing status reports to management.
Required Qualifications
Requirements:
4-year degree and/or relevant experience
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Advanced writing and editing abilities
Excellent problem solver with good attention to detail and ability to think strategically
3 - 5 years marketing and/or product development experience, preferably in the carpet industry or in the environmental arena
Must be adaptable to a dynamic work environment and able to implement alternate solutions
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and possess good organizational skills
Ability to research and comprehend advanced technical topics and complex environmental issues.
